Dr. Curtis is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Society, the Catawba Valley Optometric Society, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, and the Lincolnton/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.
Outside the office Dr. Curtis has shared his eye care skills on 44 medical mission trips since 1999, also teaching eye care seminars for laymen across the United States for other mission trip participants. Dr. Curtis and his students have treated more than 100,000 patients in third world countries. He has been an avid racquetball player since 1970. Dr. Curtis and his wife, Rachel Ann, have three grown children and four grandchildren
